I remember beginning work as a professional nutritionist at Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Tucson, Arizona. (The golden standard in the spa industry and one known to attract the rich and famous.) My friends (and clients) asked if I would be giving the same advice to the rich and famous...

...that I was already giving to my friends (and clients).

And my answer was an astounding...

...yes!!

Losing weight works for celebrities just like it works for regular people. There aren't different weight loss formulas for different socioeconomic classes!

I give the same advice to my clients that you'll find right here on my website. I love what I do so much that I want to be able to share the information with everyone!

I'm an "official" Registered Dietitian. Weight loss is the #1 concern people come to me with.

What I know that you need to know

Diets don't work.

Are you falling victim to the most common weight loss mistakes?

Not in the long run anyway. Anything you do to lose weight you have to keep doing to keep it off.

Losing weight isn't magic. It's science.

And scientists love data. So...

Calories matter.

All of them...even "fat free," "sugar free," "low carb" calories, and even hidden calories. Excess caloric intake leads to an increase in the numbers on the scale! (But believe it or not, too few calories can actually interfere with weight loss.)

Knowing how many calories your body requires is key to weight maintenance and loss.

Eat intentionally, not accidentally.

Exercise is essential.

Kids run around all the time! You need to add "running around" to your life. And by that I mean, working out.

Be ready to reconfigure your notion of an ideal weight.

What you're aiming for may be skewed by the media and unattainable standards. Also, it may not take into account all the lean, attractive muscle mass you're capable of adding!

Don't be fooled by water weight.

Everyone's metabolism is different...
