I went on Medifast in August 2010, I wanted a "quick" weight loss to start and keep my motivation going. It worked!
I lost 35 lbs in 4 months! It was great not having to think about what my next meal was - the food is good (I loved the Peanut Butter Crunch Bars, Shakes - which I made into hot drinks, and the Parmesan Cheese Puffs, scrambled eggs and tomato soup).
I did find that I had more energy and felt really good about my progress. Then the holidays hit...I drank a little too much, ate WAY too much and by New Years 2011, I was up 20 lbs.
HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!...Well after reading your AWESOME Website, that 3,500 calories = 1 lb and I was eating more than 2,000 per day....
So here I am looking for another "quick" fix. But in reality there is no quick fix for permanent weight loss.
I've done a program called PRISM Weight Loss in the past, you eat 1200 calories per day, stay away from sugar and processed food, exercise, keep a food journal, eat healthy balanced meals and since it's a church based program it helps you deal with the emotional side to eating and you have a support group. I am going back to this as I lost 100 lbs in 10 months doing it the "right" way and went from a size 18/20 womens to a size 9/10 Misses.
So If you are looking for a "jump start" to weight loss I would recommend Medifast (I had my Dr. approval) and then work into a long term "life style change" - its the only way weight loss can happen is if you "CHOOSE" it for life!!!
Good Luck!!!
